Our digital solution consists of four main elements - digital triggers, connected product cloud, atma.io, modular applications and hardware solutions - that stimulate digital consumer engagements while creating the foundational capabilities to track each garment throughout its lifecycle to unlock visibility, traceability and circularity for the entire supply chain. Meanwhile, the interactive exhibit illustrated how garment manufacturers and retailers could benefit from real-time insights, helping them improve supply chain accuracy and efficiency, reduce waste, enable circularity, and strive to meet net-zero targets.

Through demonstrations of Avery Dennison’s apparel portfolio, which include Embelex, Factory Solutions (including on-demand manufacturing), and Digital Solutions, we showcased how our technology could contribute to a more sustainable future for textiles on a global scale. Items displayed included a Connected Garment, Swijin performance wear (with digitally connected heat transfer labels), BYBORRE Scarf & Transnomadica vintage jeans (with digitally-connected printed fabric labels) and Embelex Agility® HD heat transfers for sports jerseys, which could also be digitally enabled.

This year, over 40 seminars and forums were conducted to enrich participants’ experiences. They focused on a series of industrial hot topics to discuss the infinite possibilities for the future of the textile and apparel industry. Amelia Chen, Asia commercial director, Apparel Solutions, and Leo Shi, senior manager, apparel & beauty market development, Avery Dennison Smartrac Greater China, spoke at the event on 29th August. Their session is entitled: “See Beyond the Physical and Digital – Unlock Digital Transformation in Apparel.” drawing the attention of plenty of international and domestic visitors. Meanwhile, in-booth presentations, led by Avery Dennison experts, were running simultaneously to explain how end-to-end Digital Solutions can unlock the transformation of the apparel industry and connect data from raw materials to consumers.

Being one of the key multinational exhibitors, our leadership team had been interviewed by the organizer, Messe Frankfurt.  Jenny Hu, China sales director, Apparel Solutions said: "We consider the Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics event to be a crucial platform for highlighting Avery Dennison's significant position as a worldwide frontrunner in the apparel supply chain. Our ability to merge the realms of physical and digital, coupled with our leadership in digital ID innovation, will take center stage. This event will serve as a showcase for the substantial value our solutions provide to the fashion and textile sectors." Alexandre Lalumiere (director, In-Plant Printing Solutions, Solutions Group) introduced the IPPS RFID factory solutions integrated with atma.io to showcase how we can enhance the supply chain visibility and traceability, while Leo Shi demonstrated the comprehensive RFID solutions for retail application.

The constant iterations of emerging technologies are changing consumer attitudes towards the retail experience, apparel sustainability, transparency and recycling, and brand authenticity, and are forcing branded retailers and manufacturers to evolve with the trend and respond to the changing market demands. Avery Dennison will continue to uphold the digitization revolution that connects the physical with digital to empower retail brands and garment factories to thrive in the ever-changing world of apparel industry. We hope to meet you again in the next Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics event with more innovations and end-to-end solutions!
