Avery Dennison Bangladesh presented innovative apparel solutions at US Trade Show and Dhaka Apparel Expo 2022

Two large industry events in the South Asia region returned after two years while navigating the pandemic, and Avery Dennison Bangladesh was present at both.

On October 27-29, 2022, Avery Dennison Bangladesh took part in the US Trade Show 2022 in the Hotel Sonargaon, Dhaka, and organized by the American Chamber of Commerce and U.S. Embassy in Bangladesh. Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Global Markets, Arun Venkataraman, U.S. Ambassador Peter Haas, and AmCham President Syed Ershad Ahmed inaugurated the event where 44 US organizations from different sectors participated. Our distinguished guests were impressed by how Avery Dennison is committed to offering high quality products and services within the apparel industry and further strengthening the United States-Bangladesh trade and investment relationship.

Two weeks later on November 14-16, the team exhibited at the Dhaka Apparel Expo 2022, a dedicated show for apparel products and solutions, bringing all the stakeholders within the Bangladesh apparel industry together under one roof. The president of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Faruque Hasan, inaugurated the event with other esteemed guests like Cem Altan, President of International Apparel Federation (IAF) and Salman F Rahman, the Prime Minister's Private Industry and Investment Adviser, were in attendance and visited Avery Dennison’s booth.

In these two industry events, customers were introduced to our cutting-edge Embelex on-product branding solutions, efficient supply chain IPPS (In-Plant Printing Solutions) and intelligent RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) solutions. The expo allowed the Avery Dennison Bangladesh team to highlight the innovations of Avery Dennison that are suitable for today's sustainability oriented and rapidly changing apparel business.

The Avery Dennison Bangladesh team showcased Embelex, the industry-defining ecosystem for on-product branding solutions. The Embelex portfolio consists of heat transfer technologies, woven and embroidery embellishments, specialty solutions, and Embelex services such as customization and personalization. In Bangladesh, we are already producing and supplying different types of heat transfer labels in large capacity which are much more sustainable compared to other screen printing technologies. A lot of visitors from the apparel sector were attracted by our product portfolio and showed interest in exploring more of Embelex.

To bring further flexibility, speed and resilience to our apparel and footwear customers, we offered IPPS (In-Plant Printing Solutions) that allows you to produce labels and tags when and as you need them. IPPS enables factories to exceed customer expectations and realize cost savings while helping brands grow their businesses. At Avery Dennison, we believe labeling should be on-demand and never hold up production. For more information, please visit IPPS here.

In addition to Embelex and IPPS, Digital IDs are another focus that is designed specifically to help make the textile and apparel industries more circular and reduce waste. During the trade fair we promoted our RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) solutions which provide the most efficient and ultimate inventory accuracy through scanning and live tracking. Customers can choose RFID stickers or hang tags with a barcode, QR code or any other variable information to print on top along with a large volume of variable data to store in the micro chip of the label which can be read instantly with scanners.

With the country’s transforming vision to become an upper middle income country by 2041, the apparel sector will be the main growth engine and Avery Dennison Bangladesh has a long term strategy to support that growth by providing world-class sustainable apparel solutions to the industry. Both international platforms are significant in achieving this throughout the journey. Together, we can further expand our business with our customers and drive growth for the country.
